The Minnesota Sheltie Rescue has a wonderful group of supporters! The Give to the Max day returned amazing results. We owe a big thank you to each and every one of you that donated. We received $5,520 in donations on "Give to the Max" day. You all exceeded our expectations by far! These funds will be put to very good use for the care of Shelties in need.
Givemn.org also exceeded their expectations for donations by far and raised $14 million dollars. They had no way of knowing how much would be raised as their organization just went live November 1 and this was their kickoff event. A similar event had been done in Texas and they raised $5 million dollars. Givemn.org thought they might receive about the same, but it went way above their expectations. This was an amazing event for the charities of Minnesota, however it does mean that our matching amount comes out to 4%, or $220, lower than we had hoped. However, every dollar donated to MNSR helps our shelties, and $220 covers a veterinary proceedure for a Sheltie in need, such as a neuter or a good supply of heartworm meds.
We are grateful for every contribution as well as the matching funds and the tremendous goodwill resulting from this event. It was a huge success, thanks to your generosity. We are so grateful for your support.
