Marley

Mr. Marley Man had a peaceful transition with the help of MN Pets after a brief battle with TCC (transitional cell carcinoma). He was a fighter and enjoyed all the extra love we gave him these last months. We are so very grateful that we were chosen to be his forever family by Karen/Minnesota Sheltie Rescue in 2011. He was just what we needed to heal our hearts after the loss of our Guinness earlier that year. Marley was my first rescue, my first new not-a-puppy, and my introduction to herding breeds.

Introducing him to agility built his confidence and bond with me, until he decided trials were no fun. He was more than happy to hold down the house and spend time in the backyard. He greeted each morning like it was going to be the best day ever! He traveled perfectly, loved boat rides and hammocks. An excellent canine ambassador on any patio or with young kids, welcoming the attention because who could resist that fur?!

He was the Neighborhood Watch Captain in our front window and racing from gate to gate in the backyard. Our street already misses his Fed Ex announcements, I'm sure. Our daily walks, no matter the weather, were clockwork with friends in the neighborhood. He was the best big brother to Maisie. I had never had two dogs at the same time but it was just the best in our household. She really adored him, he was the ‘big dog’ always. They were ‘like peas & carrots’. I hope he's on the lookout for the next good boy that needs a great place to land. Rest now, Sweetest Marley. We miss you but are so very glad to have had you.
