Our Dogs

When a Sheltie comes to Minnesota Sheltie Rescue, he/she is brought up to date on all vaccinations, tested for Heartworm, Lyme disease and other disorders, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. Then they generally move to a foster home where they will be further evaluated to determine type of home that is best for the dog. While in foster care, any medical conditions or dental issues are treated as directed by our veterinarians.

The Foster home, along with the Foster director will usually determine when the dog is ready to be posted as available on Available Dogs. The dog’s biography will include just about everything the Foster home knows about the dog, so please read the bio carefully.

We celebrate the happy stories of our Shelties who have found their forever homes in Success Stories.  We follow our Shelties for their lifetime, we check in with our adopters annually and we are always so happy to see every human and their Sheltie at our annual events.

“Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.” Our Rainbow Bridge page is a tribute to those MNSR Shelties who have now gone on to the Rainbow Bridge.
